‘While a number of schools exist to support students with ADHD and Autism, including The Currajong School in Malvern East and Berengarra School in Melbourne’s east, advocacy group founder Pauline Aquilina said too many families were competing for a limited number of highly specialised placements.’

Vulnerable neurodivergent students are being caught in an impossible gap between mainstream and specialist education, leaving them bullied and excluded. Parents and advocates are calling for action to address the “missing middle” crisis.
