Berengarra School – CafEducation

CafEducation: Real-World Vocational Learning for Senior Students in Melbourne

As part of our alternative high school program, senior students at Berengarra School complete hands-on vocational training through the Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) and VCE Vocational Major (VM). Students are required to complete both a Vocational Education Training (VET) course and a work placement to develop Industry Specific Skills (ISS). CafEducation, our onsite cafe, is the core of this training experience. In partnership with Flexible Training Solutions (FTS) our students can complete Certificate II and III in Retail while gaining valuable real-world experience in our customer-facing environment.

Real Café Experience and Training

At CafEducation our school’s VET Teacher and Café Manager provide the nurturing environment our students need to achieve success in a functioning café environment. Students also gain experience in barista work and complete food safety training. At CafEducation, students also have the opportunity of completing a School-Based Apprenticeship/Traineeship (SBAT).

Parent Testimonial – Berengarra School

“Our son attended Berengarra School from year 7 at Box Hill until the completion of his VCAL certificate at the Chadstone Campus until he graduated. We cannot thank the school enough for providing him an education which he otherwise would not have received.”
