Berengarra School acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong People who are the Traditional Custodians of the unceded lands on which our school stands. We would also like to pay respect to Elders past and present of the Kulin Nation and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Our Commitment
At Berengarra School, we recognise that Acknowledgement of Country is more than a gesture, it is part of our commitment to truth-telling, reconciliation, and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. As a school that supports neurodiverse and complex learners, we believe in creating a community where all students feel seen, safe, and valued.
We are committed to listening, learning, and embedding cultural understanding across our programs, policies, and relationships. This includes seeking opportunities to deepen our knowledge of First Nations perspectives, histories, and ongoing contributions to community and Country.
We continue to reflect on how our values of inclusion, wellbeing, and empowerment can be expressed through respectful engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and we acknowledge that this work is ongoing.
