Berengarra Students Hit the Airwaves on JOY 94.9
Berengarra School students have recorded a radio ad now playing on JOY 94.9, highlighting the school’s inclusive approach to education.
Students Take the Mic
In March 2026, listeners of JOY 94.9 will hear Berengarra School students record an advertisement for the school. By participating, students developed valuable media skills, reflecting Berengarra School’s commitment to providing an inclusive and supportive environment for young people.
The campaign also introduced Berengarra School to a wider audience through one of Melbourne’s leading community radio stations.
Celebrating Diversity, Pride, and Belonging
The ad’s message reflects Berengarra School’s broader vision: to offer a welcoming environment where students who have struggled in mainstream settings can rediscover a love of learning and where diversity and pride are celebrated.
Berengarra School is dedicated to inclusion, recognising that students bring a wide variety of backgrounds and identities. The school works to ensure that every young person feels valued, empowered to participate, and supported in achieving their goals.
By embracing diversity and fostering a truly inclusive atmosphere, Berengarra School nurtures a community where every student feels a sense of belonging and is motivated to engage confidently in their education.
Growing Through Real-World Experiences
Students are encouraged to step outside their comfort zones and gain confidence by seizing new opportunities, such as recording for JOY 94.9.
Through media projects, partnerships with community groups, and hands-on learning, students develop practical skills and share their stories with a wider audience.
Hearing their own voices broadcast has been a transformative experience, reinforcing that their perspectives matter and that their voices can reach well beyond the classroom.
